BREAKING: Retired NASCAR Driver Says “People Are Waking Up”
Former NASCAR and IndyCar star Danica Patrick, long known for her trailblazing career, made headlines this week by announcing she will vote for Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential Election. Patrick, who has never voted, expressed her newfound sense of urgency, emphasizing that this election cycle is critical for the country’s future.
“I just want to say I’ve never voted before, but this time [around], I have to vote. It’s that important,” Patrick told an enthusiastic crowd during a Donald Trump town hall event in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her endorsement marks a significant shift in her political stance, as she previously supported Robert F. Kennedy Jr. before ultimately aligning herself with Trump and his policies.
Patrick’s support for Trump has been influenced by her admiration for his business acumen. The former race car driver highlighted Trump’s extensive experience in the private sector, underscoring that the country needs a leader who can run the nation like a business. “A guy like that who has been in business as long as he has, he’s gonna go into that room and get stuff done. That’s what we need, a president who will make changes happen,” she said.
Trump’s previous presidency and ability to expose “fake news” also resonated with Patrick, who applauded his efforts to challenge the mainstream media. “I think that Trump did a really good job of letting us know that there is such a thing as fake news,” she remarked.
The endorsement comes as Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, continue to build momentum ahead of the 2024 election. Vance, a U.S. Senator from Ohio and author of Hillbilly Elegy joined Trump at the event, where he humorously sought clarification on Patrick’s voting intentions. “I just want to be clear, I want to get on record — you’re voting for us, right?” Vance asked, to which Patrick emphatically replied, “1,000 percent.”
Patrick’s shift in support has sparked discussion, particularly given her history of political independence. Known for her pioneering role in motorsports, Patrick’s endorsement of Trump underscores her belief that the nation needs a strong, results-driven leader. “The person that runs this country should ultimately be running it very much like a business,” she stated, reinforcing her endorsement of Trump as the best candidate to tackle the nation’s challenges.
While Patrick’s support for Trump is significant, her call for greater political engagement also stood out. She has long encouraged first-time voters to get involved in the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of civic participation.
“It’s a matter of doing that and helping people understand how to do it – especially getting people who have never voted before,” Patrick said at the Hamilton County Republican Fall Dinner earlier this year.
Patrick’s endorsement reflects the growing momentum among Americans seeking a return to common-sense policies and economic stability under the Trump administration.
